About

The AIT was founded by the first graduates of the Geneva School of Interpreters in the early 1940s. Some of the first students joined the teams providing simultaneous interpretation at the Nuremberg Trials. Today many of the graduates of our alma mater work for the United Nations family and other multilateral institutions contributing to the peaceful co-existence of peoples and cultures.

Over the years our association has opened its doors to all members of the multilingual professions, and particularly those working in Geneva. It is established under the Swiss Civil Code, and all of the members of its Board work on a pro bono basis.
